Shannon Coppa Communications (SCC) is a world-class communications firm providing expertise in community engagement, crisis communications, event management, marketing, media coaching, public affairs and public relations.
Founded in 2024 by communications veteran Shannon Coppa, SCC is a woman-owned firm dedicated to meeting the distinct needs of our clients across corporate, government, and nonprofit sectors. Our commitment lies in delivering result-driven, personalized services that align with each client's unique objectives.
At SCC, we leverage our extensive expertise to craft detailed and targeted communication strategies that can effectively address specific challenges. From comprehensive campaigns to special projects and events, we take a tailored approach to ensure success.
Being a small firm allows us to offer senior-level leadership qualities and hands-on attention to every engagement, fostering collaborative partnerships with our clients.

Before founding SCC, Shannon previously served as the Chief for the Communications, Engagement and Collaboration Division at the Los Angeles Unified School District, the second-largest school district in the nation.
In this capacity, Shannon developed and executed seamless communications and marketing campaigns and events, led crisis communications and media relations, guided all parent and family engagement activities and developed and strengthened partnerships on behalf of Los Angeles Unified.
Shannon’s keen attention to detail, excellent writing skills and ease in dealing with reporters on any topic, also solidified her as a key senior advisor and main spokesperson on behalf of six Los Angeles Unified superintendents over her 23 years at the District.
Before her work at Los Angeles Unified, Shannon worked as an assistant media director at Cerrell Associates, Inc. a leading public relations and public affairs firm located in Los Angeles. There, she created and implemented media relations efforts for a variety of clients in the public and private sector.
Also during her time at Cerrell, Shannon co-led media relations efforts for Vice President Al Gore on his visits to Los Angeles. She later became part of the national press advance team during his 2000 presidential campaign. In this role, Shannon managed high-profile media events and fostered key relationships with dignitaries, corporate and nonprofit leaders and national reporters.
Shannon resides in Southern California with her husband and twin sons.

Shannon graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.
